SPECIES PROFILE

Gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus)

The Gyrfalcon is a raptor of the far north which only occasionally strays far enough south in winter to be easily observed.  Few details are known about its migratory habits, and MRF is considering studying it as part of its Arctic research program.  A full species profile for the Gyrfalcon will be posted here if it is selected for study.
