SELECTING TECHNIQUES

Every method of research has its advantages and disadvantages.  One of the critical decisions MRF faces in planning any project is deciding which methods are most appropriate for answering the questions at hand.  Many factors need to be considered:  frequency / accuracy of data, cost, time required, size / weight of the species in question, other safety considerations, etc.  Where relevant, justification for selecting particular techniques will be given in the project outlines for research programs as they are developed.
