June 2009 - Short-eared Owls are a grassland species ... so what are three of them doing in this tree?  It's not so unusual to see them in trees in winter, especially when there's a thick cover of snow, but seeing this in summer is a surprise, and another reminder of how much remains to be learned about this species  (Photo by Kristen Keyes)
