SWAINSON'S HAWK

RESULTS

We were hoping to catch a Swainson's Hawk in September or October 2005 to equip it with a satellite transmitter.  Unfortunately only one individual was observed at Cape May during the fall 2005 migration, and it could not be lured into the traps.  The fall of 2006 unfolded in much the same way, so we are now hoping that the 2007 migration will yield better results.  Once we are successful in trapping a hawk and equipping it with the satellite transmitter, regular reports on its movements will be posted on this page.
