The
Peregrine Falcon remains a species at risk in parts of North America,
and while the population has recovered well from historic lows, some
aspects of its nesting and migratory behaviour remain incompletely
understood. MRF is focusing its efforts on complementing existing
research and management programs, with a particular emphasis on improving
our knowledge of urban-nesting pairs. Current activities include the
banding of Peregrine Falcons in Quebec, while previous research included satellite tracking of juveniles
in New York; details are available in the project
outline section, and on our Rochester
page, detailing the tracking of juvenile peregrines from
Rochester, New York.
